Binani Industries Limited and Ghanshyam Binani Foundation – a Braj Binani Group non-profit organization – have invited nominations for the 12th Ghanshyam Binani Children’s Bravery Awards. The Award – that has entered its twelfth year – has been constituted in fond memory of Late Ghanshyam Binani and it felicitates the brave acts of deserving children below 16 years of age.
The award is a tribute to young children whose acts reflect bravery with spirit of courage, humanity and presence of mind by protecting others while risking their own lives. The Foundation has invited nominations from young children who have shown remarkable bravery during the period of January, 1st 2012 to December 31st, 2012.
The Award has two categories – the male and the female category. Deserving children from these categories will be given a public recognition and they will be awarded with a cash prize of Rs 51,000, a Medal of Courage, a Certificate of Recognition and a Citation each. An eminent panel of judges comprising of distinguished personalities in their respective fields will select the winners. The names of the recipients of the Award will be announced in a glittering ceremony scheduled in March 2013.
The Award will be felicitated to two children each, both from a male and a female category. This will see more children participating in these prestigious Awards.

The Ghanshyam Binani Foundation institutes an annual national bravery award for children below 16 years of age. This award was introduced in the memory of Late Ghanshyam Binani who loved children unconditionally. The Award consists of a thematically designed silver medal which is embedded with the symbol of a pyramid and a crystal. The pyramid and the crystal are considered as the epitome of energy. In fact, they absorb and emit energy and this medal acknowledges that force within. The awardees also get a citation and a cash reward of Rs. 51,000/ each. The silver medal has a neckband of three bold colours – orange, blue and green – representing fire, water and earth. A male and a female child is awarded every year. Sometimes, depending on extraordinary brave act, the Foundation also honours a deserving candidate a special award of Rs. 25,000.
Ghanshyam Binani Foundation, a non-profit charitable organization of Braj Binani Group was set up in 1958 to help the needy and support a good cause. Seth Govardhandas Binani was the founder Chairman and Late Ghanshyam Binani was the Vice-Chairman.
