In 2007, identifying China as a pivotal market, Binani Cement formed a joint venture Shandong Binani Rongan Cement Co. Ltd. (SBRCCL) after acquiring management control of M/s. Rizhao Rongan Construction Materials Co. Ltd., an operational 2 year old 1200 tpd clinker manufacturing unit. Spread over an area of 176,846 sq. meters, the plant is strategically located within close proximity to the ports of Rizhao and lanshan in Shandong Province. The plant was upgraded from 1200 tpd to 1550 tpd with addition of a Cement Grinding Unit in 2008. Currently the Plant is running at 100% capacity with the help of technological enhancements rolling out clinker at 1600 tpd. SBRCCL has also been actively exporting its products to the UAE with focus shifting to the domestic market recently.

Presently, Binani Cement has increased its stake from the original 70% to 90% by injecting funds with specific expansion plans. SBRCCL is currently implementing a Brownfield expansion from Limestone crushing to the final bagged cement on approximately 215,000 sq. meters of land adjoining the existing manufacturing facility. The 2.5 mtpa project has its own Waste Heat Recovery system of 12 MW and Grinding Unit of 1.2 mtpa for OPC. After commissioning of this project, SBRCCL will have a clinker production capacity of 3 mtpa and cement grinding capacity of 1.75 mtpa by the end of 2011.
